💕 Distinguished visit by João Silvério Trevisan
On the last day of the 4th Vórtice Festival, we received a distinguished visit from João Silvério Trevisan!
Writer, filmmaker, screenwriter, translator, and LGBT+ activist, born in 1944 in Ribeirão Bonito (SP). He is one of the pioneers of gay literature in Brazil and a reference in the fight for civil rights. He founded the SOMOS group and the newspaper O Lampião da Esquina, landmarks of the homosexual movement in the 1970s. Author of works such as Devassos no Paraíso, Ana em Veneza, and Pai, Pai, he explores themes such as sexuality, identity, religion, exile, and family relationships. His writing blends fiction, autobiography, and essays, with a strong political and poetic dimension. Recognized with awards such as Jabuti and APCA, Trevisan also worked in marginal cinema and had his works censored during the dictatorship. He is one of the most influential voices in Brazilian LGBT+ culture.
We took a guided tour, piece by piece, exchanging many ideas and opinions. We move forward in Artivism, with courage, color, and presence! 🌈✨
